After a defensive mix-up in Arrebimba o Malho SLB's zone, Rıfkı Esenboğa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Boy Fish came out of the goal and Rıfkı Esenboğa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 23rd minute Mauro Balsemão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tuncer Polathan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tuncer Polathan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aldo Dias, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After 28 played minutes CAN ERZURUM got a freekick which was hit by Mauri Icardi. An unexpectedly hard shot by Piri Kim in the 31st minute of play forced CAN ERZURUM's goalkeeper Tuncer Polathan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Boy Fish made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Piri Kim who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 71stth minute tested the skills of Tuncer Polathan when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Tuncer Polathan made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Aldo Dias sent off a good shot on target.
