After 4 minutes, Rıfkı Esenboğa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CAN ERZURUM and the Coriano FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 4th minute, Rıfkı Esenboğa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Damiano Di Rocco got free with Tuncer Polathan in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. CAN ERZURUM's Tuncer Polathan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save CAN ERZURUM from getting a goal against them. Through an outstanding action, after 10 minutes, Tuncer Polathan successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Beppe Falasca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Atabek Tecimen in the 11th minute of the match. Beppe Falasca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ümit Akyüz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Coriano FC's zone, Atabek Tecimen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Beppe Falasca came out of the goal and Atabek Tecimen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 17th minute, Damiano Di Rocco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Beppe Falasca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rıfkı Esenboğa in the 19th minute of the match. If Damiano Di Rocco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute Damiano Di Rocco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tuncer Polathan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. CAN ERZURUM's Tuncer Polathan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cosimo Picozzi in the 33rd minute of play. In the 37th minute, Comunardo Foni reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tuncer Polathan. The goal made the score 1-0. CAN ERZURUM's Tuncer Polathan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save CAN ERZURUM from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Coriano FC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Cosimo Picozzi hit a great ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

CAN ERZURUM's Özden Uruç was substituted for Ümit Zeren. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Comunardo Foni to make the kick off. With a little luck, Coriano FC's Beppe Falasca got control of the ball when Ümit Akyüz tried to sneak it across the goal line. 62 minutes into the match, CAN ERZURUM's goal looked a bit too open when Comunardo Foni came free, but Tuncer Polathan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
