After a rather tough play, Cardiff City FC's Bernardino Atarratze got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Cristian Vaz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 7 minutes into the match, Mandalas's goal looked a bit too open when Bernardino Atarratze came free, but Zeca Couve reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Behzat Oğuzhan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Martin Rivero read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. The supporters of Cardiff City FC booed when Mandalas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Obi Kenobi didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Marquinhos Ramalho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Martin Rivero was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Marquinhos Ramalho put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Martin Rivero. When Marquinhos Ramalho came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Mandalas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marquinhos Ramalho couldn't finish the play. In the 41st minute, Behzat Oğuzhan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 45th match minute, Mandalas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Válbson Galvão to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Cardiff City FC booed when Mandalas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Acácio Meireles didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Celso Walme to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Cardiff City FC's goal looked a bit too open when Obi Kenobi came free, but Martin Rivero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Celso Walme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Zeca Couve tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Martin Rivero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Obi Kenobi in the 75th minute of the match. Obi Kenobi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Rivero having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Marquinhos Ramalho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mandalas's supporters rose to their feet, but Marquinhos Ramalho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Martin Rivero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Celso Walme kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Zeca Couve. That made the score 1-2 in the 87 minute of play. Although Mandalas had been in control for most of the match, Cardiff City FC still came away with the win.
