Ergincan Türköz went to the cornerflag to take it. After having played for 35 minutes, Kasım Sahadettin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. HORIZZONT's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kasım Sahadettin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Yuan Ying made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fredrik Creemers in the 37th minute of play. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The supporters of Genk booed when HORIZZONT was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yuan Ying showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daan Van Der Elst in the 80th minute of the match. Genk's Wilfried Boumans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rahim Sidam in the 82nd minute of play. HORIZZONT were awarded a corner in the 83th minute after Genk's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ergincan Türköz took the corner. Şaban Kayıhan was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post.
