Spectators: 8030 (Terracing: 6024, Seating: 1846, VIP seats: 160) Zinon Potamias started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 4th minute of the match FC Klavertje Vier got a corner. FC Maci -MM-'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Zinon Potamias ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Zinon Potamias got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Vladimir Kramnik quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Anatoly Karpov came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the FC Maci -MM- fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anatoly Karpov couldn't finish the play. In the 12th minute Philipp Van Kestbeek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vladimir Kramnik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, FC Maci -MM-'s Gelu Cornoiu got a free kick in the 14th minute. The audience was convinced that Zinon Potamias's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vladimir Kramnik was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. A collision led to FC Klavertje Vier getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Joery Hylen hit a great ball. Zabulón Carabajal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anatoly Karpov's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. Iwan Marchefka sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anatoly Karpov's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zabulón Carabajal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. In the 40th match minute, FC Klavertje Vier was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bertrand Sielens to maneuver through the defense. The corner led FC Maci -MM-'s Sabin Miclauș to fire away a dangerous shot which Zabulón Carabajal despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Octavian Gaciu kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. 56 minutes into the match, FC Klavertje Vier's goal looked a bit too open when Anatoly Karpov came free, but Zabulón Carabajal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Codrin Calomfir during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to FC Maci -MM- getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Codrin Calomfir hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Philipp Van Kestbeek got free with Vladimir Kramnik in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. FC Maci -MM-'s Vladimir Kramnik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Philipp Van Kestbeek in the 62nd minute of play. After having played for 63 minutes, Anatoly Karpov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Maci -MM-'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Anatoly Karpov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vladimir Kramnik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iwan Marchefka, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 69 minutes, Iwan Marchefka managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Klavertje Vier's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iwan Marchefka was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Zinon Potamias managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Klavertje Vier's supporters rose to their feet, but Zinon Potamias was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vladimir Kramnik breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. FC Klavertje Vier's Claude Montens was substituted for Iwan Marchefka. Vladimir Kramnik made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zinon Potamias in the 73rd minute of play. FC Maci -MM-'s Vladimir Kramnik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zinon Potamias in the 75th minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, FC Maci -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Philipp Van Kestbeek came free, but Vladimir Kramnik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Klavertje Vier made a substitution. Jaspar Westelinx replaced Oscar Van Aerschot. In the 82nd minute there was a penalty for FC Maci -MM-. Sabin Miclauș stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Zabulón Carabajal. 2-1. Zabulón Carabajal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anatoly Karpov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Maci -MM- made a substitution. Mac Allister replaced José Capablanca. The FC Maci -MM- support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
