Manfred Fribäck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benedicto Atarratze, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tage Backlund recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bram Jamieson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Manfred Fribäck made a huge save. Urmas Känsäkangas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolás Castillo in the 7th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Bram Jamieson took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Manfred Fribäck to make any attempt to save it. In the 13th match minute, SK Gullegem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benedicto Atarratze to maneuver through the defense. Larry Tatum received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Urmas Känsäkangas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Norrlands Athen's Manfred Fribäck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benedicto Atarratze in the 18th minute of play. Norrlands Athen's Manfred Fribäck proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Norrlands Athen from getting a goal against them. Manfred Fribäck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mathias-Alexander Jamieson in the 21st minute of the match. With a little luck, Norrlands Athen's Manfred Fribäck got control of the ball when Xavier Goossens tried to sneak it across the goal line. Manfred Fribäck was out of position in the 23 minute of play, and Benedicto Atarratze capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Benedicto Atarratze really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. After a rather tough play, SK Gullegem's Mathias-Alexander Jamieson got a free kick in the 26th minute. Urmas Känsäkangas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tage Backlund in the 31st minute of play. Henrik Stor charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Henrik Stor the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Henrik Stor hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. In the 36th minute, Xavier Goossens ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Manfred Fribäck was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. With his leg Manfred Fribäck managed to avoid a goal in the 39thth minute, when SK Gullegem's Xavier Goossens fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Xavier Goossens in the 40thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Manfred Fribäck, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 41st minute Xavier Goossens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manfred Fribäck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolás Castillo in the 42nd minute of play forced SK Gullegem's goalkeeper Urmas Känsäkangas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Norrlands Athen getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Henrik Stor hit a great ball. The long shot by Louis Jamieson in the 46th minute really tested Manfred Fribäck's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Qian Zhen Sheng charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Qian Zhen Sheng the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 47 played minutes Norrlands Athen got a freekick which was hit by Qian Zhen Sheng. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The wind increased when Xavier Goossens made the kick off in the second half. Nicolás Castillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 56 minutes, Tord Lundin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Norrlands Athen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tord Lundin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 61st minute Mathias-Alexander Jamieson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manfred Fribäck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 63 minutes into the match, SK Gullegem's goal looked a bit too open when Tage Backlund came free, but Urmas Känsäkangas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tage Backlund in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Urmas Känsäkangas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Manfred Fribäck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xavier Goossens in the 82nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in SK Gullegem's zone, Arvin Låsberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Urmas Känsäkangas came out of the goal and Arvin Låsberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mathias-Alexander Jamieson in the 89th minute of play forced Norrlands Athen's goalkeeper Manfred Fribäck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in SK Gullegem's zone, Arvin Låsberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Urmas Känsäkangas came out of the goal and Arvin Låsberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 93rd minute Xavier Goossens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manfred Fribäck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Martin Lundin was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 95 minutes into the match. Martin Lundin hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. SK Gullegem had won after a very even match.
