Spectators: 7478 (Terracing: 5610, Seating: 1719, VIP seats: 149) UD ZAS's Carcelén Othaz started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Mauro Torne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carcelén Othaz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 5 minutes, Toro Martínez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Inter de Guayaquil FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Toro Martínez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emanuel Obarenes kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Xandro Almodovar hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Juan-Alfredo Guceño recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Inter de Guayaquil FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Emanuel Obarenes 10 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Mauro Torne was out of position in the 14 minute of play, and Emanuel Obarenes capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Emanuel Obarenes really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. In the 17th minute, UD ZAS's Emanuel Obarenes dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. After 22 minutes, Toro Martínez made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. UD ZAS's España Fanego tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Toro Martínez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. España Fanego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toro Martínez in the 26th minute of the match. With a little luck, Inter de Guayaquil FC's Mauro Torne got control of the ball when Edgardo Mijancas tried to sneak it across the goal line. 30 minutes into the game, Inter de Guayaquil FC's Toro Martínez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. España Fanego made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. In the 34th minute Toro Martínez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but España Fanego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toro Martínez in the 35th minute of play forced UD ZAS's goalkeeper España Fanego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th minute Emanuel Obarenes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauro Torne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 40th minute, Emanuel Obarenes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Juan-Alfredo Guceño charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juan-Alfredo Guceño the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Juan-Alfredo Guceño kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-2 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Toro Martínez made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Osvaldo Laserna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 58 played minutes Inter de Guayaquil FC got a freekick which was hit by Toro Martínez. 61 minutes into the match, UD ZAS's goal looked a bit too open when Toro Martínez came free, but España Fanego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 62nd minute of the game Diego Di Maria made a throw-in which Valiente Tebar played forward. A collision led to Inter de Guayaquil FC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Osvaldo Laserna hit a great ball. Inter de Guayaquil FC's Blanco Lambarida was substituted for Toro Martínez. After a rather tough play, UD ZAS's Carcelén Othaz got a free kick in the 67th minute. 69 minutes into the game, Checa Lloreda was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. UD ZAS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Inter de Guayaquil FC the free kick. España Fanego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Blanco Lambarida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 74th play minutes Blanco Lambarida shot 3-3, a short shot which went by España Fanego and just under the crossbar into goal. Diego Di Maria could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but España Fanego made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Diego Di Maria got free with España Fanego in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 82nd minute, Inter de Guayaquil FC's Blanco Lambarida dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-4. Blanco Lambarida blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without España Fanego having to make a save. Blanco Lambarida might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over España Fanego. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Blanco Lambarida ran back to his position shaking his head. Blanco Lambarida who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 90thth minute tested the skills of España Fanego when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Blanco Lambarida, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 92 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The España Fanego was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The Inter de Guayaquil FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Inter de Guayaquil FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
