Rafael Cordeals short, quick shot in the 15thth minute got Luis Alberto Lazcano to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Alipio Mason kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Rafael Cordeal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vamos Los Pibes!!!!'s supporters rose to their feet, but Rafael Cordeal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luis Alberto Lazcano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Evelio Tercero struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Luis Alberto Lazcano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vamos Los Pibes!!!!. Edelmiro Aizpuru hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. The supporters of Club Deportes Santa Cruz booed when Vamos Los Pibes!!!! was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonides Malvin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Iker Froila made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Remi Manzanal in the 32nd minute of play. In the 42nd minute Remi Manzanal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iker Froila saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael Cordeal in the 44th minute of play forced Club Deportes Santa Cruz's goalkeeper Luis Alberto Lazcano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iker Froila showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Remi Manzanal in the 46th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rafael Cordeal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
