Özen Akburç came out and tried to block the shot, but Wesley Oelaerts slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 3rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Bruly's zone, Kuddusî Yazargil stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jerom Van Dongel came out of the goal and Kuddusî Yazargil tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Özen Akburç took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joseph Neels, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th minute, Batur Turbay made a precise shot to the right of Jerom Van Dongel. Bruly's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After 25 minutes, Serhat Baray mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the S.P.Q.R. and the Bruly players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kuddusî Yazargil in the 29th minute of play forced Bruly's goalkeeper Jerom Van Dongel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jerom Van Dongel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Talat Yenay in the 30th minute of the match. Melih Boysan took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jerom Van Dongel. Jerom Van Dongel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Özen Akburç was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Karel-Jan Van Eyck showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-2 in the 34 minute of play. In the 39th minute, Bruly's Joseph Neels dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-2. In the 42nd minute Kuddusî Yazargil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jerom Van Dongel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 47 minutes into the match, S.P.Q.R.'s goalkeeper Özen Akburç had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joseph Neels.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kuddusî Yazargil to strike the kick off in the second half. When Isaac Puttemas fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bruly's protests and gave Isaac Puttemas a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Bruly's Isaac Puttemas got a free kick in the 51st minute. Mustafa Emrah Pamiroğlu, 52 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After 57 played minutes S.P.Q.R. got a freekick which was hit by Mustafa Emrah Pamiroğlu. Jerom Van Dongel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Talat Yenay in the 59th minute of the match. Wesley Oelaerts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Özen Akburç having to interfere. A collision led to S.P.Q.R. getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Giray Ekin hit a great ball. Özen Akburç came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Bruly's Wesley Oelaerts. But to his dismay, Wesley Oelaerts quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-2. After 67 minutes, Melih Boysan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the S.P.Q.R. and the Bruly players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 67th match minute, S.P.Q.R. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Melih Boysan to maneuver through the defense. 6-2 became the score in the 68th minute when Wesley Oelaerts elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 72 minutes into the match, S.P.Q.R.'s goal looked a bit too open when Karel-Jan Van Eyck came free, but Özen Akburç reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 78 minutes into the game, Benoit Keuppens was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bruly's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.P.Q.R. the free kick. Benoit Keuppens kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. 81 minutes into the match, S.P.Q.R.'s goal looked a bit too open when Karel-Jan Van Eyck came free, but Özen Akburç reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as S.P.Q.R.'s Melih Boysan slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jerom Van Dongel. That made the score 7-3 after 85 minutes of play. 93 minutes into the game, Bruly's Joseph Neels nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Özen Akburç made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-3. S.P.Q.R.'s players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
