When Rogelio Dimo fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Halcones's protests and gave Rogelio Dimo a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Halcones fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 3rd minute. Penalty! The audience was convinced that Marcelino Javiar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Chicão Peixoto was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Halcones were awarded a corner in the 10th minute after Gato Preto FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jonas Evangelista took the corner. The corner ended in Jonas Evangelista almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Gato Preto FC's Chicão Peixoto did a great save. Emílio de Sena kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the match, Gato Preto FC's goalkeeper Chicão Peixoto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Florencio Lastur. Chicão Peixoto made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Florencio Lastur sent off a good shot on target. In the 24th minute of the match, Florencio Lastur got a very nice opportunity to score, but Chicão Peixoto was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Bernardinho de Senna hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. After 36 minutes Gato Preto FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jonas Evangelista who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Jonas Evangelista almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Gato Preto FC's Chicão Peixoto did a great save. In the 39thth minute of the game Emílio de Sena who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Halcones's Esteve Acosta was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Gato Preto FC's Clóvis Guimarães got a free kick in the 42nd minute. 43 minutes into the match, Halcones's Jonas Evangelista broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 45th minute, Bernardinho de Senna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Florencio Lastur was the one to do the kick off. Robinho de Medeiros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Esteve Acosta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. Robinho de Medeiros succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-2 in the 51st playminute. Esteve Acosta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emílio de Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Florencio Lastur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Esteve Acosta made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Bernardinho de Senna sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Halcones's Ladislao Gipuzkoa got a free kick in the 59th minute. Emílio de Sena scored 0-3 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Esteve Acosta, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 63 minutes, Celestino Buinton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Halcones's supporters crossed their fingers, but Celestino Buinton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 68 minutes into the game, Abel Moreira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gato Preto FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Halcones the free kick. A collision led to Gato Preto FC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Abel Moreira hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emílio de Sena in the 70th minute of play forced Halcones's goalkeeper Esteve Acosta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 70 minutes into the game, Ladislao Gipuzkoa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Halcones's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gato Preto FC the free kick. Bernardinho de Senna hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. A collision led to Gato Preto FC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Caco da Costa hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Robinho de Medeiros got free with Esteve Acosta in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Florencio Lastur struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Chicão Peixoto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Halcones. The Gato Preto FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Gato Preto FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
