After a defensive mix-up in FC Heretique's zone, Sengrat Sañudo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eugeniusz Domin came out of the goal and Sengrat Sañudo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With his leg Eugeniusz Domin managed to avoid a goal in the 35thth minute, when Deportivo Alianza Lima.'s Burni Tornamira fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Alianza Lima.'s zone, Sebastian Kuszczak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dorio Villagomez came out of the goal and Sebastian Kuszczak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Olgierd Sowa to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flavio Di Fazio in the 52nd minute of play forced Deportivo Alianza Lima.'s goalkeeper Dorio Villagomez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
