Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tom Are, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. FC Dundee were awarded a corner in the 28th minute after Club Atlético Escocia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Olavi Ellermaa took the corner. The corner ended in Olavi Ellermaa almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Club Atlético Escocia's Marcelino Atarrabi did a great save. Marcelino Atarrabi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toomas Lasso in the 31st minute of the match. After 35 played minutes Club Atlético Escocia got a freekick which was hit by Narciso Sauveur. Tom Are showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Titan Nahas, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. In the 47th match minute, FC Dundee was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olavi Ellermaa to maneuver through the defense. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Marcelino Atarrabi was a little too slow when Pogi Hanson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 53rd minute. The score was now 0-1. Marcelino Atarrabi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arvo Lätti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mauricio Luken recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Club Atlético Escocia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Evelio Sotero kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. After 96 played minutes FC Dundee got a freekick which was hit by Robert Oppenheimer. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
