When Bo Bergström fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Bodil United's protests and gave Bo Bergström a yellow card for diving instead. Valdieri's Francesco Firmani was substituted for Edoardo Rinaldi. Bo Bergström hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Cosimo Avesani made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kjell-Arne Björkqvist in the 6th minute. 7 minutes into the match, Valdieri's goal looked a bit too open when Viggo Ekblom came free, but Cosimo Avesani reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Bodil United's Torgny Fastesson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arturo Verdone in the 11th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Andreola in the 12th minute of play forced FC Bodil United's goalkeeper Torgny Fastesson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee gave FC Bodil United a penalty, 15 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Nils Bokelund, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Valdieri's Cosimo Avesani. 1-0. If Arturo Verdone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Torgny Fastesson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arturo Verdone, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. In the 21st minute Bo Bergström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cosimo Avesani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kjell-Arne Björkqvist came free with the goalkeeper in the 23rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Cosimo Avesani could save by the left post. Valdieri's Cosimo Avesani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Krister Andberg in the 25th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Viggo Ekblom kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Cosimo Avesani. That made the score 2-0 in the 26 minute of play. After 39 played minutes Valdieri got a freekick which was hit by Enzo Volpe. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Nils Bokelund managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Bodil United's supporters rose to their feet, but Nils Bokelund was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cosimo Avesani breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Davide Allemandi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Davide Allemandi's late challenge caught a FC Bodil United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Davide Allemandi helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of FC Bodil United booed when Valdieri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Davide Allemandi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Valdieri's Davide Allemandi got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Valdieri's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Arturo Verdone in the 56th minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Davide Allemandi heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Cosimo Avesani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kjell-Arne Björkqvist in the 61st minute of the match. 65 minutes into the match, FC Bodil United's goal looked a bit too open when Davide Allemandi came free, but Torgny Fastesson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kjell-Arne Björkqvist succeeded in the game's 68th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-0. The supporters of FC Bodil United booed when Valdieri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Davide Allemandi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cosimo Avesani didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bo Bergström went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kjell-Arne Björkqvist in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cosimo Avesani saved Valdieri from getting behind. In the 95th minute Kjell-Arne Björkqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cosimo Avesani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Valdieri players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for FC Bodil United.
