Spectators: 7460 (Terracing: 5596, Seating: 1715, VIP seats: 149) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Kjell-Arne Samuelsson got the match started through his kick off. David Connolly scored 1-0 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tord Nyman, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 19 minutes, Hans Ahlroht managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GNUSKALLARNA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hans Ahlroht was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sid Cullen during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Smiddy Celts's Sid Cullen got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Tord Nyman was a little too slow when Eric Wallace got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 25th minute. The score was now 2-0. Tord Nyman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucas Graham, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Tord Nyman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucas Graham, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tord Nyman was out of position in the 38 minute of play, and Eric Wallace capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Eric Wallace really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. Tord Nyman came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Smiddy Celts's David Connolly. But to his dismay, David Connolly quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and David Connolly made a kick off. Tord Nyman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Connolly, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Tord Nyman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Buchan in the 62nd minute of play. The supporters of Smiddy Celts booed when GNUSKALLARNA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kjell-Arne Samuelsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kjell-Arne Samuelsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ray McLeish having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Connolly in the 80th minute of play forced GNUSKALLARNA's goalkeeper Tord Nyman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tord Nyman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 92nd match minute, Smiddy Celts was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sid Cullen to maneuver through the defense. If Karl-Erik Kaxe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Smiddy Celts fans cheered their team off the field, for while GNUSKALLARNA had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
