In the 19th minute Nelsinho Ceresso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egon Sundström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erasmo Marques kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Nelson Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Egon Sundström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 26 minutes into the match, Al-Norr's goal looked a bit too open when Nelson Toledo came free, but Egon Sundström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Nelsinho Ceresso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nitra FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nelsinho Ceresso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Egon Sundström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Nitra FC's Erasmo Marques got a free kick in the 35th minute. Gunnar Gren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erasmo Albuquerque hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. After the first half Nitra FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gunnar Gren to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Gunnar Gren had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cauã Guedes. Nitra FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gunnar Gren was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gunnar Nordahl in the 56th minute of play forced Nitra FC's goalkeeper Cauã Guedes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Nelson Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 64th match minute, Al-Norr was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christoffer Wallin to maneuver through the defense. Nelsinho Ceresso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Egon Sundström made a huge save. Nelsinho Ceresso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egon Sundström having to interfere. The Nitra FC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Al-Norr from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
