Caxias do Sul booed when JULM C.F. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdek Joa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcel Abreu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Rein Püss made a huge save. After taking down the ball on S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's corner Samuca Figueiredo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rein Püss quite easily take care of the ball. 28 minutes into the match, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goal looked a bit too open when Edmund Salavesi came free, but Miguel Ángel Ortiz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Samuca Figueiredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rein Püss having to interfere. Samuca Figueiredo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Peeter Hovi to strike the kick off in the second half. Marcel Abreu took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rein Püss. Rein Püss dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Soni Féron hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. In the 70th minute Vambola Raig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Ángel Ortiz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Valdek Joa fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored JULM C.F.'s protests and gave Valdek Joa a yellow card for diving instead. Leopoldo Sanches sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 76 minutes into the game, Marcel Abreu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Rein Püss was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rein Püss made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopoldo Sanches in the 79th minute of play. If Leopoldo Sanches had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd match minute, JULM C.F. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdek Joa to maneuver through the defense. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of JULM C.F. for a fine match.
