The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the game, Indiana University's Alparslan Nabi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tommy Ståhlberg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After having played for 9 minutes, Barbaros Hatipoğlu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Indiana University's supporters crossed their fingers, but Barbaros Hatipoğlu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Indiana University's Barışcan İnegöllü played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rickard Smed in the 11th minute of play. After 12 minutes, Tayfur Çanak mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Indiana University and the Solskin players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tommy Ståhlberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Barbaros Hatipoğlu went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 42nd minute Rickard Smed shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Barışcan İnegöllü saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47th minute, Atalan Naim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-1 at half-time.

But to his dismay, Buğrahan Keremşah quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-1.
