The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rubinho Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 2nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Victoriano Senin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Oshyros ll getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Tomas Frances hit a great ball. In the 6th minute of the match Vivaldo Bueno shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Victoriano Senin showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Guilherme Barreto in the 7th minute of play forced Oshyros ll's goalkeeper Victoriano Senin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luiz Guilherme Barreto scored 0-1 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Victoriano Senin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Carlos Brun kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Romeu Batista. That made the score 1-1 in the 17 minute of play. In the 23rd match minute, Oshyros ll was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bartolo Gonsalvo to maneuver through the defense. Vivaldo Bueno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Luiz Guilherme Barreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Victoriano Senin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Guilherme Barreto in the 31st minute of play. Angelino Argenis hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luiz Guilherme Barreto made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Angelino Argenis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luiz Guilherme Barreto in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Victoriano Senin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 55th match minute, Várzea F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rubinho Queirós to maneuver through the defense. In the 56th minute of the match Celso Patxi shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Romeu Batista showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 59th minute, Eleuterio Iigo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Várzea F.C.'s Aníbal Paes shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 60th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Victoriano Senin but with some difficulty. Victoriano Senin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luiz Guilherme Barreto's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. Romeu Batista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angelino Argenis in the 68th minute of play. After 74 played minutes Oshyros ll got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Erdiano. In the 81st match minute, Várzea F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celso Secco to maneuver through the defense. After 83 minutes of play, Oshyros ll's Carlos Brun made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Romeu Batista was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 88 played minutes Oshyros ll got a freekick which was hit by Angelino Argenis. In the 89th minute, Luiz Guilherme Barreto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Oshyros ll getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Tomas Frances hit a great ball. In the 92nd minute of the match Vivaldo Bueno sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Victoriano Senin skillfully saved the ball. Angelino Argenis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Romeu Batista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Carlos Brun fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Oshyros ll's protests and gave Carlos Brun a yellow card for diving instead. In the 96th match minute, Oshyros ll was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Brun to maneuver through the defense. Despite being the better team, Várzea F.C. failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
