Axel Ballhaus didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 28th minute, which inside left pole to 3-1. Richard Clemens hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. In the 34th minute of the match, Damian Dubiel got a very nice opportunity to score, but Axel Ballhaus was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by Lekko Spoceni's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Erich Egger was slow to take the kick. During this time Sydney FC's players had a chance to rest. With a little luck, Sydney FC's Axel Ballhaus got control of the ball when Patryk Rakowski tried to sneak it across the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Sydney FC made a substitution. Constantin Ehrgott replaced Tizian Borutta. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Feliks Kochanowski stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thorben Rittmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wincenty Budzynski having to interfere. Per Schäfer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Wincenty Budzynski made a huge save. Jurand Zajonc hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Axel Ballhaus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Feliks Kochanowski in the 61st minute of play. Bernhard Butenschön hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. In the 71st minute of the match Lekko Spoceni got a corner. Sydney FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Feliks Kochanowski ran over to the corner to take the kick. Lekko Spoceni's Feliks Kochanowski was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Axel Ballhaus in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 73rd minute Thorben Rittmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wincenty Budzynski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thorben Rittmann who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 75thth minute tested the skills of Wincenty Budzynski when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 76th match minute, Lekko Spoceni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leon Sadlowski to maneuver through the defense. Thorben Rittmann received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Wincenty Budzynski came out and tried to block the shot, but Thorben Rittmann slotted it home off the left post making it 3-3 in the 78th minute. A collision led to Lekko Spoceni getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Karol Walec hit a great ball. With a little luck, Lekko Spoceni's Wincenty Budzynski got control of the ball when Erich Egger tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 84 minutes, Richard Clemens mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sydney FC and the Lekko Spoceni players grew even worse after the yellow card. Axel Ballhaus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Feliks Kochanowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Sydney FC's Axel Ballhaus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Radowit Falke in the 87th minute of play. Wincenty Budzynski didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Thorben Rittmann went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-4 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Karol Walec during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 93rd minute, Karol Walec hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Feliks Kochanowski in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Axel Ballhaus saved Sydney FC from getting behind. The Sydney FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
