Serginho Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 魏青桑, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rdth minute of the game Toninho Goiano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but 『挑战者』银河俱乐部's 任兴阳 was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of MINEIROS booed when 『挑战者』银河俱乐部 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. 龚烨朋 didn't get a good kick on the ball. 任兴阳 showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toninho Goiano in the 25th minute of the match. Hugo Albuquerque could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but 任兴阳 made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Toninho Goiano got free with 任兴阳 in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 39th minute 魏青桑 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serginho Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 41 minutes into the match, MINEIROS's goal looked a bit too open when 魏青桑 came free, but Serginho Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 『挑战者』银河俱乐部's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Toninho Goiano 44 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

After 55 minutes of play, MINEIROS's Joel Quadros made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. 任兴阳 was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 60th minute, 杨政建 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in 『挑战者』银河俱乐部's zone, Hugo Albuquerque stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. 任兴阳 came out of the goal and Hugo Albuquerque tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 62nd minute Hugo Albuquerque shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 任兴阳 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Serginho Taffarel made an important save on a dangerous shot by 魏青桑 in the 64th minute. 彭正笑 kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. MINEIROS made a substitution. Nilson de Souza replaced Christian Fernandes. Toninho Goiano took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised 任兴阳. 任兴阳 dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0.
