The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute, Alonzo Fero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Ciccio Lucente managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Mims's supporters rose to their feet, but Ciccio Lucente was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Francisco Chabier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Emilio Sugoi kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. In the 10th minute, Arturo Baciadonne got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orlando Castulo in the 20th minute of play forced FC Mims's goalkeeper Amerigo Taranto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marco Eleazar kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. In the 22nd minute of the match Ciccio Lucente sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Francisco Chabier skillfully saved the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Damiano Strazzabosco in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Francisco Chabier saved Imperio Académico from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arturo Baciadonne in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Francisco Chabier prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Emilio Sugoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute Arturo Baciadonne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisco Chabier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Francisco Chabier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrea Ronconi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Emilio Sugoi fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Imperio Académico's protests and gave Emilio Sugoi a yellow card for diving instead. After 39 played minutes Imperio Académico got a freekick which was hit by Emilio Sugoi. The crowd rose to their feet as Aureliano Quirce kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Amerigo Taranto. That made the score 1-0 in the 42 minute of play. 48 minutes into the game, FC Mims's Arturo Baciadonne nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Francisco Chabier made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Aureliano Quirce made the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes, Arturo Baciadonne mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Mims and the Imperio Académico players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 56thth minute of the game Arturo Baciadonne who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Imperio Académico's Francisco Chabier was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Andrea Ronconi struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Francisco Chabier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Mims. In the 64th minute, Andrea Ronconi reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Francisco Chabier. The goal made the score 2-2. Amerigo Taranto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aureliano Quirce, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. In the 69th minute of the match Imperio Académico got a corner. FC Mims's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Emilio Sugoi ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Marco Eleazar almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC Mims's Amerigo Taranto did a great save. After 70 minutes FC Mims's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Emilio Sugoi who took care of the corner kick. Amancio Pacorro kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. After some careless play in the FC Mims defense, Alejandro Otsoa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Amerigo Taranto. The FC Mims fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amerigo Taranto should have stopped the shot. Francisco Chabier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arturo Baciadonne in the 79th minute of the match. Arturo Baciadonne could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Francisco Chabier made a huge save. The supporters of Imperio Académico booed when FC Mims was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrea Ronconi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 88th match minute, Imperio Académico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alejo Lidon to maneuver through the defense. Elia Panella kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. After 91 played minutes Imperio Académico got a freekick which was hit by Orlando Castulo. Francisco Chabier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arturo Baciadonne in the 96th minute of play. Imperio Académico succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though FC Mims had controlled the match.
