The supporters of WZG Sandomierz booed when Stiinta-Univ. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mihail Juverdeanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 16th match minute, WZG Sandomierz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benedykt Pyrzyce to maneuver through the defense. In the 17th match minute, Stiinta-Univ. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horaţiu Ştefulescu to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Stiinta-Univ.'s Marcel Bărcăuan got a free kick in the 19th minute. Stiinta-Univ.'s Bogdan Lobonț played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walery Percha in the 21st minute of play. Horaţiu Ştefulescu struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Radomir Chazon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stiinta-Univ.. When Tolek Czeszyk came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the WZG Sandomierz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tolek Czeszyk couldn't finish the play. After 43 played minutes Stiinta-Univ. got a freekick which was hit by Costin Cuculeanu. After having played for 45 minutes, Boruc Marut managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. WZG Sandomierz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Boruc Marut was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, WZG Sandomierz's Radomir Chazon got control of the ball when Horaţiu Ştefulescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Horaţiu Ştefulescu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 57 minutes had been played when some careless play by Stiinta-Univ.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Wojciech Dec was slow to take the kick. During this time WZG Sandomierz's players had a chance to rest. The corner led WZG Sandomierz's Wojciech Dec to fire away a dangerous shot which Bogdan Lobonț despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Costin Cuculeanu thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Bogdan Lobonț, a very annoying self made goal in the 57th minute which led to 0-1. With a little luck, Stiinta-Univ.'s Bogdan Lobonț got control of the ball when Wojciech Dec tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to WZG Sandomierz getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Benedykt Pyrzyce hit a great ball. WZG Sandomierz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Boruc Marut was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Wojciech Dec blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bogdan Lobonț having to make a save. Walery Percha's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 87thth minute, Bogdan Lobonț skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When the match clock showed 87 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Walery Percha sped through Stiinta-Univ.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bogdan Lobonț. Walery Perchas short, quick shot in the 90thth minute got Bogdan Lobonț to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The WZG Sandomierz players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
