The coaching staff of £øs ρєłαdєirøs ®™ protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Adhemar Paiva had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Wellington Figueiredo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilfredo Etxahun, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Aquilino Oliviero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diogo Oliveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benigno Erizs short, quick shot in the 14thth minute got Wellington Figueiredo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 15 minutes had been played when some careless play by £øs ρєłαdєirøs ®™'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Wilfredo Etxahun was slow to take the kick. During this time Sporting de Gijón's players had a chance to rest. Angel Di Maria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aquilino Oliviero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kiljan Mbappè in the 29th minute of play. If Amauri Ferreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Angel Di Maria hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. When Amauri Ferreira came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the £øs ρєłαdєirøs ®™ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amauri Ferreira couldn't finish the play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kiljan Mbappè to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Angel Di Maria notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of £øs ρєłαdєirøs ®™'s Wellington Figueiredo. Wellington Figueiredo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 56 played minutes Sporting de Gijón got a freekick which was hit by Celestino Illart. Aquilino Oliviero acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 59th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Jardel Paulista. Aquilino Oliviero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diogo Oliveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. 64 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's goal looked a bit too open when Kiljan Mbappè came free, but Aquilino Oliviero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aquilino Oliviero came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by £øs ρєłαdєirøs ®™'s Kiljan Mbappè. But to his dismay, Kiljan Mbappè quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Aquilino Oliviero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amauri Ferreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Sporting de Gijón's Eloy Timo was substituted for Cristian Medina. 76 minutes into the game, Ruslan Rudchenko threw the ball into play from the sideline. £øs ρєłαdєirøs ®™'s Roberto Dinamite quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Wellington Figueiredo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolas Urtzi, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. When Kiljan Mbappè came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the £øs ρєłαdєirøs ®™ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kiljan Mbappè couldn't finish the play. In the 88th minute, Diogo Oliveira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Sporting de Gijón's Eloy Timo got a free kick in the 90th minute. Sporting de Gijón's Aquilino Oliviero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kiljan Mbappè in the 93rd minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. £øs ρєłαdєirøs ®™ had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
