Orain Abendano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Calistrat Potopea in the 17th minute of the match. Bogdan Lobonț took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mincho Abadia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eder Abella in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bogdan Lobonț saved F.C CLUJ MEDICINA from getting behind. F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's Bogdan Lobonț played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clodio Abalos in the 24th minute of play. When Leontin Teodoreanu fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's protests and gave Leontin Teodoreanu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to F.C CLUJ MEDICINA getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Eder Abella sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eder Abella could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Bogdan Lobonț made a huge save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 54th minute of the match Pepsi Fuchibol Clu got a corner. F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Waldir Abendano ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a rather tough play, F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's Leontin Teodoreanu got a free kick in the 56th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Waldir Abendano in the 57th minute of play forced F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's goalkeeper Bogdan Lobonț to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
