In the 17th minute Leonardo Paio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jailson Luz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Isidro Cordeal charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Isidro Cordeal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 22nd minute, Leonardo Paio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Grêmio Prudente's Jailson Luz got control of the ball when Leonardo Paio tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Franja Dorada's goalkeeper Fidel Jerano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Grêmio Prudente's zone, Leonardo Paio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jailson Luz came out of the goal and Leonardo Paio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
