Spectators: 8015 (Terracing: 6000, Seating: 1855, VIP seats: 160) FC NILS's Zebastian Palmkvist started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, RACIN DE CHAWEN's goal looked a bit too open when Bill Fitzpatrick came free, but Marco Pedriza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Åke Utter came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by RACIN DE CHAWEN's Fabián Camarasa. But to his dismay, Fabián Camarasa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Raúl Moreno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 14 minutes into the game, Bill Fitzpatrick recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marco Pedriza. Bill Fitzpatrick showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Åke Utter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Abellan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute, Tim Nordlund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC NILS's Bill Fitzpatrick got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bill Fitzpatrick succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 26th playminute. Åke Utter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Abellan in the 28th minute of play. A collision led to FC NILS getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Americo Portas hit a great ball. After 43 minutes of play, RACIN DE CHAWEN's Raúl Moreno made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Åke Utter was left in no man's land by his defense there! FC NILS's Åke Utter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Belarmo Llinares in the 46th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fabián Camarasa was the one to do the kick off. In the 61st minute, Bill Fitzpatrick ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marco Pedriza was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. Marco Pedriza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stor Klack, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as RACIN DE CHAWEN's Sindo Bacete slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Åke Utter. That made the score 3-3 after 74 minutes of play. FC NILS's Marko Hegg was substituted for Merry Christmann. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raúl Moreno in the 79th minute of play forced FC NILS's goalkeeper Åke Utter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stor Klack struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Marco Pedriza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC NILS. In the 88th minute, one of RACIN DE CHAWEN:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for RACIN DE CHAWEN. The audience was convinced that Stor Klack's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marco Pedriza was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. For all the effort they put into the match, the RACIN DE CHAWEN players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for FC NILS.
