The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Doru Josan in the 7th minute of play forced Flamengo de San Blás's goalkeeper Sebastián Trejos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd minute, Donald Hoiting hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gilberto Escalona, 23 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After a rather tough play, Flamengo de San Blás's Fernando Escobar got a free kick in the 26th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Donald Hoiting managed to get in a good position for a shot. FCF north's supporters rose to their feet, but Donald Hoiting was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sebastián Trejos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 31 minutes, Dirk-Jan Lambers made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Flamengo de San Blás's Sebastián Trejos tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 40 minutes into the match, FCF north's goal looked a bit too open when Wiliam Lozano came free, but Peter Oldenborger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Jorginho Salles's late challenge caught a FCF north's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorginho Salles helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Flamengo de San Blás's Jorginho Salles got a free kick in the 52nd minute. After having played for 53 minutes, Doru Josan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FCF north's supporters crossed their fingers, but Doru Josan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. FCF north were awarded a corner in the 60th minute after Flamengo de San Blás's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Donald Hoiting took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Donald Hoiting got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Sebastián Trejos quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A hard shot 62 in the game by Wiliam Lozano from a close distance when the talented Peter Oldenborger managed to make a qualified save. FCF north's players were relieved. Wiliam Lozano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Peter Oldenborger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Dirk-Jan Lambers's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sebastián Trejos was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. 75 minutes into the match, FCF north's goal looked a bit too open when Jorginho Salles came free, but Peter Oldenborger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
