Sheriff's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Hackspett U21 the free kick. Sheriff:s Apostolis Kaliasis showed great skill when he stopped Shi Li Sha:s penalty. A collision led to Sheriff getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Loukas Zografakis hit a great ball. 5 minutes into the match, Sheriff's goalkeeper Apostolis Kaliasis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Miromir Szostak. Miromir Szostaks short, quick shot in the 7thth minute got Apostolis Kaliasis to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Miromir Szostak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Miromir Szostak got free with Apostolis Kaliasis in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 16th minute, Miromir Szostak left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Hackspett U21 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Shi Li Sha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Apostolis Kaliasis made a huge save. Joachim Holmgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giorgos Samoladas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 26 minutes into the match, FC Hackspett U21's Miromir Szostak sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Apostolis Kaliasis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 29th match minute, Sheriff was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Loukas Zografakis to maneuver through the defense. FC Hackspett U21's Ye Feng Feng got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Ye Feng Feng kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Apostolis Kaliasis. That made the score 2-0 in the 34 minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Shi Li Sha got free with Apostolis Kaliasis in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Miromir Szostak could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Apostolis Kaliasis made a huge save. A sloppy throw-in by Alekos Lazarakis in the 43rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by FC Hackspett U21's Luka Pirlo. Alekos Lazarakis charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alekos Lazarakis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 44 played minutes Sheriff got a freekick which was hit by Alekos Lazarakis. In the 45th minute Miromir Szostak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Apostolis Kaliasis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Shi Li Sha to strike the kick off in the second half. Takis Miaoulis's late challenge caught a FC Hackspett U21's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Takis Miaoulis helped the player get up and apologised. Dimitris Kabitsis hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. The supporters of FC Hackspett U21 booed when Sheriff was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dimitris Kabitsis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 63rd minute of the match Ye Feng Feng shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Apostolis Kaliasis showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. FC Hackspett U21's Shi Li Sha got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Miromir Szostak fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Hackspett U21's protests and gave Miromir Szostak a yellow card for diving instead. Miromir Szostak hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Joachim Holmgren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sakis Panagoulis, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miromir Szostak in the 74th minute of play forced Sheriff's goalkeeper Apostolis Kaliasis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Miromir Szostak's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Apostolis Kaliasis was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. Miromir Szostak recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. FC Hackspett U21's Alvin Brenner was substituted for Shi Li Sha. Giorgos Samoladas made in the 85th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Alekos Lazarakis immediately put the ball in play. Apostolis Kaliasis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edvard Klemensson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Hackspett U21's Luka Pirlo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Alekos Lazarakis, made in the 93rd minute of the game. Sheriff's Apostolis Kaliasis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvin Brenner in the 96th minute of play.
