After a defensive mix-up in Seraċini Għawdxin's zone, Adelino Esteves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dejan Cumbo came out of the goal and Adelino Esteves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Seraċini Għawdxin fans' excitement grew in the 21st match minute when Seraċini Għawdxin's Roderick Cachia Zammit looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Leonard Calleja managed to get in a good position for a shot. Seraċini Għawdxin's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonard Calleja was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vítor Britto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Seraċini Għawdxin walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
