Diguinho Quintal's late challenge caught a S S Palestra Italia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Diguinho Quintal helped the player get up and apologised. Diguinho Quintal kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. S S Palestra Italia's Geovanni Vaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeferson Couto in the 14th minute of play. Caio Luz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The S S Palestra Italia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Geovanni Vaz should have stopped the shot. S S Palestra Italia's Geovanni Vaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeferson Couto in the 30th minute of play. Geovanni Vaz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oséas Medeiros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Geovanni Vaz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeferson Couto, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. COURO COME FC's Magno Zonta couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 36th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for S S Palestra Italia. In the 47th minute Jeferson Couto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geovanni Vaz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rafinha Batista to make the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, S S Palestra Italia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Artur Pimenta to maneuver through the defense. Reynaldo Batista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from César Terra in the 54th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 62 minutes, Geovanni Vaz successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 63rd minute Kiko Sena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geovanni Vaz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Geovanni Vaz had in the 76thth minute some difficulties stopping Magno Zonta's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 77 minutes into the match, S S Palestra Italia's goal looked a bit too open when Oséas Medeiros came free, but Geovanni Vaz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 79th minute, S S Palestra Italia's Abel Marquez seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Abel Marquez the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of S S Palestra Italia protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Abel Marquez had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in S S Palestra Italia fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 78th minute. Penalty! S S Palestra Italia:s Geovanni Vaz showed great skill when he stopped Magno Zonta:s penalty. After 80 minutes of play, COURO COME FC's Magno Zonta made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Geovanni Vaz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Geovanni Vaz made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Kiko Sena sent off a good shot on target. After 91 played minutes S S Palestra Italia got a freekick which was hit by César Antunes. The COURO COME FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing COURO COME FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
