Spectators: 7572 (Terracing: 5680, Seating: 1741, VIP seats: 151) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Placido Laurgain started the match with the kick off. After having played for 2 minutes, Leonardo Rodríguez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SAN LORENZO FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonardo Rodríguez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 6th minute Leonardo Rodríguez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Hernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Cura del Futbol's zone, Leonardo Rodríguez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilberto Hernandez came out of the goal and Leonardo Rodríguez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nereo Rodas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Hernandez having to interfere. In the 14th minute Leonardo Rodríguez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Hernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Cura del Futbol's goal looked a bit too open when Placido Laurgain came free, but Gilberto Hernandez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gilberto Hernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonardo Rodríguez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Melquiades Rosalio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerardo Romelio having to interfere. Jorge Rinaldi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience was convinced that Placido Laurgain's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gilberto Hernandez was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leonardo Rodríguez in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilberto Hernandez saved Cura del Futbol from getting behind. Eulalio Blanco's late challenge caught a SAN LORENZO FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eulalio Blanco helped the player get up and apologised. Gilberto Hernandez came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by SAN LORENZO FC's Leonardo Rodríguez. But to his dismay, Leonardo Rodríguez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. With a little luck, SAN LORENZO FC's Gerardo Romelio got control of the ball when Cleto Santikurtz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Leonardo Rodríguez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Gilberto Hernandez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cleto Santikurtz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the SAN LORENZO FC defense, Cleto Santikurtz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gerardo Romelio. The SAN LORENZO FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gerardo Romelio should have stopped the shot. SAN LORENZO FC's Rigoberto Bitxintxo was substituted for Placido Laurgain. Gilberto Hernandez was out of position in the 62 minute of play, and Rigoberto Bitxintxo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Rigoberto Bitxintxo really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. SAN LORENZO FC made a substitution. Gaspar Cordarryl replaced Ermegildo Llanos. 71 minutes into the match, Cura del Futbol's goal looked a bit too open when Leonardo Rodríguez came free, but Gilberto Hernandez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gerardo Romelio came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Cura del Futbol's Cleto Santikurtz. But to his dismay, Cleto Santikurtz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. In the 78th minute, Eulalio Blanco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gerardo Romelio was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. Cura del Futbol's Gilberto Hernandez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Cura del Futbol from getting a goal against them. The SAN LORENZO FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SAN LORENZO FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
