The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Șerban Damian came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the DINAMO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Șerban Damian couldn't finish the play. 10 minutes into the game, Zekeriya Ulubay was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kültepe Spor Kulübü's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave DINAMO the free kick. Zekeriya Ulubay hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Doğa Ustam recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Basarab Bâlea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of DINAMO booed when Kültepe Spor Kulübü was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Şerif Sabahaddin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hamit Diriğ was a little too slow when Șerban Damian got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 19th minute. The score was now 1-0. 22 minutes into the match, Kültepe Spor Kulübü's goalkeeper Hamit Diriğ had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Șerban Damian. Marcel Anisie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doğa Ustam in the 24th minute of the match. Hamit Diriğ didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Șerban Damian went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Doğa Ustam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Marcel Anisie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eugen Bobocea hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gökcan Özakan in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcel Anisie prevented the ball from getting in the gole. DINAMO's Marcel Anisie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gökcan Özakan in the 38th minute of play. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Șerban Damian was the one to do the kick off. Necip Fazıl Aşık hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. In the 55th minute Șerban Damian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hamit Diriğ saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 57 minutes into the game, DINAMO's Adam Rednic nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hamit Diriğ made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. 62 minutes into the match, Kültepe Spor Kulübü's goal looked a bit too open when Basarab Bâlea came free, but Hamit Diriğ reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Șerban Damian fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored DINAMO's protests and gave Șerban Damian a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Kültepe Spor Kulübü booed when DINAMO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Șerban Damian didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gökcan Özakan's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 65thth minute, Marcel Anisie skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 66 played minutes DINAMO got a freekick which was hit by Sever Colin. In the 70thth minute of the game Gökcan Özakan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but DINAMO's Marcel Anisie was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gökcan Özakan got free with Marcel Anisie in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 77th minute, Basarab Bâlea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Kültepe Spor Kulübü's zone, Basarab Bâlea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hamit Diriğ came out of the goal and Basarab Bâlea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Basarab Bâlea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gökcan Özakan in the 86th minute of play forced DINAMO's goalkeeper Marcel Anisie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcel Anisie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gökcan Özakan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gökcan Özakan in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcel Anisie saved DINAMO from getting behind. In the 92nd minute, Șerban Damian ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hamit Diriğ was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Șerban Damian's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hamit Diriğ read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The DINAMO fans cheered their team off the field, for while Kültepe Spor Kulübü had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
