After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Jannik Roblaa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Saco FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jannik Roblaa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gillis Heirremans breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gillis Heirremans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jannik Roblaa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jannik Roblaa kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. After 7 played minutes Lions United got a freekick which was hit by Peter-Jan Michiels. In the 8th minute of the game, Gerhardt Borgqvist landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jorg Coenens during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jorg Coenens kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. In the 10th minute of the match Lenny Anegaard sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gillis Heirremans skillfully saved the ball. The audience cheered when Lenny Anegaard's long shot passed Gillis Heirremans's right side. It was 1-0, 10 minutes into the match. In the 13th minute Jannik Roblaa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gillis Heirremans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jannich Brolyng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tommi Uytebroeck in the 15th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Saco FC's Jannik Roblaa got a free kick in the 15th minute. 18 minutes into the game, Lennart Iwens cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Jannich Brolyng was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lions United's Gillis Heirremans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thorbjørn Engsholm in the 29th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lander Demeulemeester in the 30th minute of play forced Saco FC's goalkeeper Jannich Brolyng to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jannich Brolyng stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lennart Iwens's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. The supporters of Lions United booed when Saco FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conrad Stuhde didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jorg Coenens got his second yellow card in the match during the 43rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 44th match minute, Lions United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorg Coenens to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Saco FC's Lenny Anegaard tried to score from far away in the 45th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
After 51 minutes, Conrad Stuhde mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Saco FC and the Lions United players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 51st match minute, Saco FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conrad Stuhde to maneuver through the defense. Conrad Stuhde hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Jannich Brolyng made an important save on a dangerous shot by Peter-Jan Michiels in the 54th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tommi Uytebroeck got free with Jannich Brolyng in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lions United's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jon Van Craesbeeck in the 56th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Saco FC's goalie and right to Lander Demeulemeester. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Saco FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 59 minutes into the game, Lander Demeulemeester cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Jannich Brolyng was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Frederick Burnell's late challenge caught a Lions United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Frederick Burnell helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Saco FC's Frederick Burnell got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Jon Van Craesbeeck, 64 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Jannich Brolyng was a little too slow when Lander Demeulemeester got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 65th minute. The score was now 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lander Demeulemeester in the 68th minute of play forced Saco FC's goalkeeper Jannich Brolyng to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Lions United's goal looked a bit too open when Jannik Roblaa came free, but Gillis Heirremans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, Saco FC's goalkeeper Jannich Brolyng had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tommi Uytebroeck. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lennart Iwens during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 80th minute of the match Lenny Anegaard sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gillis Heirremans skillfully saved the ball. Lander Demeulemeester fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jannich Brolyng having to interfere. The Saco FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Lions United were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
