If Higinio Pereyra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Apolo Huly's late challenge caught a Cestarolli FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Apolo Huly helped the player get up and apologised. Leonardo Cardozo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Isidoro Nesto in the 14th minute. Júlio Souza charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Júlio Souza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Júlio Souza hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. 19 minutes into the match, Cestarolli FC's goalkeeper Leonardo Cardozo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Isidoro Nesto. If Alberto Leme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chiquinho Carioca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Alberto Leme managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cestarolli FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Leme was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ismael Haritzeder breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of C.S. y D. GENERAL LAVALLE booed when Cestarolli FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leonardo Cardozo made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Higinio Pereyra sent off a good shot on target. After 38 played minutes Cestarolli FC got a freekick which was hit by Michel Baptista. If Higinio Pereyra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hélder Vinhas's late challenge caught a C.S. y D. GENERAL LAVALLE's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hélder Vinhas helped the player get up and apologised. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Isidoro Nesto to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Cestarolli FC's goal looked a bit too open when Higinio Pereyra came free, but Leonardo Cardozo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 57 played minutes C.S. y D. GENERAL LAVALLE got a freekick which was hit by Claudio Ireno. An unexpectedly hard shot by Higinio Pereyra in the 63rd minute of play forced Cestarolli FC's goalkeeper Leonardo Cardozo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 72 minutes into the match, Cestarolli FC's goal looked a bit too open when Higinio Pereyra came free, but Leonardo Cardozo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Cestarolli FC getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Jorge Queiroz hit a great ball. Leonardo Cardozo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isidoro Nesto in the 73rd minute of the match. Augusto Chaime took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leonardo Cardozo. Leonardo Cardozo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cestarolli FC's goalkeeper Leonardo Cardozo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alberto Leme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leonardo Cardozo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isidoro Nesto in the 82nd minute of play. In the 83rd minute, Apolo Huly hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 85 minutes, Alberto Leme managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cestarolli FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Leme was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Chiquinho Carioca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 96th minute, Chiquinho Carioca left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cestarolli FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. C.S. y D. GENERAL LAVALLE had won after a very even match.
