After some careless play in the Pannekoeken defense, Christopher Fesner kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mark Kramer. The Pannekoeken fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mark Kramer should have stopped the shot. Pheonix FC's Maurits Weinhardt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronny Idelberger in the 10th minute of play. Pannekoeken's René Batum got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alfred Gallo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mark Kramer having to interfere. When Christopher Fesner in the 31st play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Mark Kramer kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 3-1 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. 36 minutes into the match, Pannekoeken's goal looked a bit too open when Imran Treffer came free, but Mark Kramer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pheonix FC's Maurits Weinhardt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lukas Dilling in the 43rd minute of play. In the 44th minute, Pheonix FC's Roger Fallis seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Roger Fallis the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Pheonix FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Roger Fallis had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 47th minute Erwin Heerspink shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurits Weinhardt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell René Batum to make the kick off. Ronny Idelberger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Pheonix FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christopher Fesner was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mark Kramer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christopher Fesner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pheonix FC's Maurits Weinhardt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by René Batum in the 77th minute of play.
