Gideon Griesbeck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gert-Jan Volckaerts, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. 10 minutes into the match, Lucas Capellemans dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gideon Griesbeck, 1-0. FC Regental's Georg Herzig got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mehdi Bernwurz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Manuel Pelegrims tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC Regental's Gideon Griesbeck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gert-Jan Volckaerts in the 17th minute of play. Marc-Stephan Heller kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lucas Capellemans got free with Gideon Griesbeck in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 23rd match minute, FC Regental was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Kimmel to maneuver through the defense. 29 minutes into the match, Limburg United's goal looked a bit too open when Mehdi Bernwurz came free, but Manuel Pelegrims reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Limburg United's zone, Mehdi Bernwurz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manuel Pelegrims came out of the goal and Mehdi Bernwurz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Georg Herzig's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Manuel Pelegrims read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Mehdi Bernwurz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Manuel Pelegrims having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Georg Herzig in the 37th minute of play forced Limburg United's goalkeeper Manuel Pelegrims to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th minute Mehdi Bernwurz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Pelegrims saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gert-Jan Volckaerts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gideon Griesbeck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gert-Jan Volckaerts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manuel Pelegrims didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Georg Herzig went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gert-Jan Volckaerts stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Limburg United's zone, Mehdi Bernwurz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manuel Pelegrims came out of the goal and Mehdi Bernwurz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mehdi Bernwurz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
