Spectators: 7507 (Terracing: 5631, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Sergio Caitano started the match with the kick off. After 2 played minutes Velez Sarsfield got a freekick which was hit by Victorio Gilesindo. DFP's Eric Lilja proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save DFP from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alf Valrot in the 7th minute of play forced Velez Sarsfield's goalkeeper Uriel Raymon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 12 minutes into the game, Sergio Caitano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Eric Lilja was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 16th minute Joseph Dalman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Uriel Raymon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jerry Mattsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in DFP's zone, Sergio Caitano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eric Lilja came out of the goal and Sergio Caitano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eric Lilja showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sergio Caitano, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Uriel Raymon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joseph Dalman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Genaro Argina fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Velez Sarsfield's protests and gave Genaro Argina a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Velez Sarsfield's Genaro Argina got a free kick in the 37th minute. Olov Berggren kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Velez Sarsfield's Luciano Raebert was substituted for Jesus Napier. Velez Sarsfield's Cristo Eguen was substituted for Angelo Seme. In the 49th match minute, Velez Sarsfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donato Bonifaco to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joseph Dalman made a kick off. Uriel Raymon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from George Alebom in the 55th minute of the match. If Joseph Dalman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eric Lilja made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luciano Raebert in the 66th minute of play. The supporters of Velez Sarsfield booed when DFP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. George Alebom didn't get a good kick on the ball. Uriel Raymon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joseph Dalman in the 72nd minute of the match. Cristo Eguen hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Alf Valrot received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Uriel Raymon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Velez Sarsfield's Uriel Raymon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerry Mattsson in the 85th minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, Velez Sarsfield's goalkeeper Uriel Raymon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alf Valrot. Gunnar Blom lost his temper 87 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. A collision led to DFP getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Gunnar Blom hit a great ball. Luciano Raebert might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eric Lilja. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luciano Raebert ran back to his position shaking his head. Uriel Raymon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alf Valrot went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Eric Lilja showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luciano Raebert, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. After 96 minutes, Jerry Mattsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the DFP and the Velez Sarsfield players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Velez Sarsfield booed when DFP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jerry Mattsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 97th minute of the match Luciano Raebert shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eric Lilja showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
