Luís Rodrigues's late challenge caught a Carpathian Wolves's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luís Rodrigues helped the player get up and apologised. In the 2nd minute, Luís Rodrigues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Celsinho Vander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Codrin Aalexoaiei in the 3rd minute of play. Nicu Steriopol hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Nichifor Mărăscu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Humberto Leão in the 8th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Carpathian Wolves's Nicu Steriopol got a free kick in the 11th minute. In the 13th match minute, AFC - Curitiba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabinho Sena to maneuver through the defense. Celsinho Vander showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niculae Arbore, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Carpathian Wolves's goal looked a bit too open when Allan Furlan came free, but Nichifor Mărăscu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Celsinho Vander showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusebiu Uncescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. 19 minutes into the game, Carpathian Wolves's Niculae Arbore nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Celsinho Vander made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Carpathian Wolves's Nichifor Mărăscu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Allan Furlan in the 22nd minute of play. AFC - Curitiba's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Codrin Aalexoaiei 23 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. The AFC - Curitiba fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when AFC - Curitiba's Luiz Gustavo Braga looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Emilian Isopescu tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Nichifor Mărăscu. An unnecessary self made goal, 2-3 in the 36th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 38 minutes, Celsinho Vander successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Celsinho Vander made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eusebiu Uncescu in the 44th minute. Nichifor Mărăscu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Gustavo Braga, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 3-3 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Niculae Arbore was the one to do the kick off. Celsinho Vander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusebiu Uncescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nichifor Mărăscu was a little too slow when Allan Furlan got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 62nd minute. The score was now 4-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Codrin Aalexoaiei in the 65th minute of play forced AFC - Curitiba's goalkeeper Celsinho Vander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. AFC - Curitiba's Celsinho Vander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusebiu Uncescu in the 73rd minute of play. Celsinho Vander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eusebiu Uncescu in the 74th minute of the match. After 78 played minutes AFC - Curitiba got a freekick which was hit by Allan Furlan. In the 79th minute of the match Nicu Enceanu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Celsinho Vander skillfully saved the ball. 82 minutes into the game, Nico Torres was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AFC - Curitiba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carpathian Wolves the free kick. Nico Torres kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Celsinho Vander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicu Enceanu in the 83rd minute of the match. Nichifor Mărăscu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Allan Furlan in the 85th minute. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, Humberto Leão took a quick shot and it went in 4-5 without a chance for Nichifor Mărăscu to make any attempt to save it. Carpathian Wolves's Nichifor Mărăscu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Carpathian Wolves from getting a goal against them. After 94 minutes of play, Carpathian Wolves's Nicu Enceanu made it 5-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Celsinho Vander was left in no man's land by his defense there! Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
