Juniors FC's Sixto Oto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 张朋亦 in the 42nd minute of play. In the 44th minute 董鹰鸿 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sixto Oto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, 阿波罗's 王峰永 got a free kick in the 45th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The supporters of 阿波罗 booed when Juniors FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matias Roganović didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Juniors FC's zone, 汪翀枫 stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sixto Oto came out of the goal and 汪翀枫 tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Juniors FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
