Spectators: 7471 (Terracing: 5604, Seating: 1718, VIP seats: 149) In the 3rd play minute Cacá Veiga came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Frances Tisserand. 1-0. 7 minutes into the match, Marshrose's goalkeeper Frances Tisserand had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cacá Veiga. 11 minutes into the match, Grêmio FBPA's Andrézinho Quadros sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Frances Tisserand narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Silvinho Perez made a great header on Grêmio FBPA's corner, it was just that Marshrose's Frances Tisserand managed to reach the ball for a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brice Bergman during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Marshrose getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Brice Bergman hit a great ball. In the 17th match minute, Grêmio FBPA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joélson Guimarães to maneuver through the defense. Ronaldo Ramos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bret Fry in the 19th minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Jerold Hooper had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ronaldo Ramos. Grêmio FBPA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jerold Hooper was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jason Charron during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 28 played minutes Marshrose got a freekick which was hit by Jason Charron. Wilian Alves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jerold Hooper struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Ronaldo Ramos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marshrose. In the 33rd minute, Bret Fry ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ronaldo Ramos was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. After a defensive mix-up in Grêmio FBPA's zone, Jerold Hooper stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ronaldo Ramos came out of the goal and Jerold Hooper tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 44 minutes into the game, Grêmio FBPA's Cacá Veiga nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Frances Tisserand made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cacá Veiga was the one to do the kick off. Frances Tisserand showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cacá Veiga in the 55th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the game, Wilian Alves cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Frances Tisserand was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilian Alves in the 63rd minute of play forced Marshrose's goalkeeper Frances Tisserand to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute, Wilian Alves ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Frances Tisserand was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. After having played for 75 minutes, Bret Fry managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marshrose's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bret Fry was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Grêmio FBPA's Ronaldo Ramos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerold Hooper in the 77th minute of play. Frances Tisserand didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cacá Veiga went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-3 was the resulting score. 82 minutes into the game, Jerold Hooper lined in a short shot 5-4 behind a frustrated Ronaldo Ramos. Marshrose's Frances Tisserand played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cacá Veiga in the 96th minute of play. Frances Tisserand took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilian Alves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Grêmio FBPA fans cheered their team off the field, for while Marshrose had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
