Hortêncio Simões's late challenge caught a Yalapa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hortêncio Simões helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Joinville United - FSCMZ's Hortêncio Simões got a free kick in the 12th minute. The supporters of Joinville United - FSCMZ booed when Yalapa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Everardo Sal was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but João Pedro Rodrigues showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 7-3 in the 83 minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Yalapa fans cheered their team off the field, for while Joinville United - FSCMZ had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
