The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Válter Siqueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tudor Bărbânță in the 4th minute of play. Mihai Odobescu hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. The wind increased when Toninho Arruda made the kick off in the second half. Marian Podgoreanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gernando Quintal in the 52nd minute of the match. 54 minutes into the game, Gernando Quintal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Marian Podgoreanu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
