The audience thought a goal was coming when Nelio Nogro got free with Dario Gutierrez in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dario Gutierrez made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Nelio Nogro sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Cascadia United getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Aureliano Rafel hit a great ball. Cascadia United's Dario Gutierrez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Senio Moneo in the 15th minute of play. In the 18th minute, Fernado Mendivil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aureliano Rafel struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Asier Orbaneja didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cascadia United. Cascadia United's Dario Gutierrez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nelio Nogro in the 22nd minute of play. Dario Gutierrez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nelio Nogro's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. Nelio Nogro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Dario Gutierrez made a huge save. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cascadia United's goalkeeper Dario Gutierrez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Asier Orbaneja took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aureliano Rafel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aureliano Rafel was shown his second yellow card after 38 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. With a little luck, Cascadia United's Dario Gutierrez got control of the ball when Nelio Nogro tried to sneak it across the goal line. After the first half Cascadia United were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Atilano Jerrald to strike the kick off in the second half.
