Variante Delta's Lalo Blanquel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jordão Bacelar in the 19th minute of play. José Madruga didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Oscar Villatoro went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. José Madruga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marciano Nogueira in the 24th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Calvino Figueira in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Madruga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mário Ferraz kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. The supporters of Atlético Micaelense booed when Variante Delta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Calvino Figueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 58th match minute, Atlético Micaelense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Nascimento to maneuver through the defense. The referee ignored Atlético Micaelense's protests and gave Jordão Bacelar a yellow card for diving instead. In the 81st minute, Variante Delta's Calvino Figueira ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind José Madruga. José Madruga yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but José Madruga showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 90 minutes, Jorge Nascimento mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atlético Micaelense and the Variante Delta players grew even worse after the yellow card.
