The audience thought a goal was coming when Diego Carredano got free with Cortez Obispo in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Matan Brito took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Blanco Vidales. Blanco Vidales dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Matan Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Blanco Vidales having to interfere. In the 35th minute, Lucio Montae ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Blanco Vidales was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After having played for 38 minutes, Diego Carredano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Astillero del Guayas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diego Carredano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Astillero del Guayas's Blanco Vidales played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matan Brito in the 40th minute of play. In the 42nd match minute, Astillero del Guayas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacinto Miruena to maneuver through the defense.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zaquiel Boñar was the one to do the kick off. If Diego Carredano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Astillero del Guayas's Blanco Vidales proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Astillero del Guayas from getting a goal against them. Mauricio Baldovino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Blanco Vidales made a huge save. Mauricio Baldovino who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 64thth minute tested the skills of Blanco Vidales when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Diego Carredano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Asensio Aranguiz kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. When the match had been going on for 73 minutes Mauricio Baldovino shot a great shot from long distance. It looked like a certain goal, but the audience witnessed a really smashing save by Blanco Vidales when he caught the ball only just under the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Siro Theobald got free with Blanco Vidales in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Blanco Vidales made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Mauricio Baldovino sent off a good shot on target. Lucio Montae hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Gladiadores's Cortez Obispo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Carredano in the 89th minute of play. Israel Gagriel's late challenge caught a Astillero del Guayas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Israel Gagriel helped the player get up and apologised. Cortez Obispo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Carredano in the 94th minute of play.
