The I Rossoneri fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Richard Haraldsson should have stopped the shot. Richard Haraldsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeronimo Terciero in the 35th minute of the match. 38 minutes into the match, Sportivo Desamparados's goal looked a bit too open when Malte Ahlerot came free, but Damaso Llin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 41 minutes into the game, when Kent Ahlgren put in a rough tackle. In the 40th minute, one of I Rossoneri:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for I Rossoneri.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Christian Vallin made a kick off. Damaso Llin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Malte Ahlerot in the 51st minute. Hans Apelqvist kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. In the 58th minute Eugenio Urritz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Haraldsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Sportivo Desamparados booed when I Rossoneri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sture Holm didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Silvano Ugutz came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Sportivo Desamparados fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Silvano Ugutz couldn't finish the play. 78 minutes into the game, Thiago Caniggia cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Richard Haraldsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thiago Caniggia in the 84th minute of play forced I Rossoneri's goalkeeper Richard Haraldsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Richard Haraldsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thiago Caniggia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Malte Ahlerot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damaso Llin having to interfere. Sportivo Desamparados's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
