Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fabricio Borines in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aureliano Pacifico prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 27 minutes into the game, Joaquin Phelipe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Academia Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Taltum FC the free kick. After 27 played minutes Academia Club got a freekick which was hit by Joaquin Phelipe. 29 minutes into the match, Academia Club's goal looked a bit too open when Fabricio Borines came free, but Aureliano Pacifico reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rafael Ilardia was out of position in the 37 minute of play, and Joaquin Phelipe capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dionisio Dolfo to make the kick off.
