The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Elias Paredes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 2nd minute. Julian Librado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julian Librado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elias Paredes in the 6th minute of play. The corner led ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s Wiliam Sobenis to fire away a dangerous shot which Julian Librado despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diómedes Rodriguez in the 10th minute of play forced Los Hijos de Doña Beija's goalkeeper Julian Librado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celso Berart recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Elias Paredes charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Elias Paredes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Julian Librado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elias Paredes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Julian Librado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elias Paredes in the 19th minute of play. In the 22nd minute of the match Calito Garcia sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julian Librado skillfully saved the ball. Humberto Moscoso kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Celso Berart's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 24thth minute, Reinaldo Ramos skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Diómedes Rodriguez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Julian Librado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 26 minutes into the game, Celso Berart was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Los Hijos de Doña Beija's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ►Las Mercedes F.C◄ the free kick. Celso Berart hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Park Ferretti got a free kick in the 43rd minute. In the 44th minute of the match Wiliam Sobenis shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julian Librado showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Elias Paredes was the one to do the kick off. When Rolando Pérez fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s protests and gave Rolando Pérez a yellow card for diving instead. In the 60th match minute, ►Las Mercedes F.C◄ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rolando Pérez to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s Diómedes Rodriguez slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Julian Librado. That made the score 0-1 after 69 minutes of play. Park Ferretti hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Julian Librado got control of the ball when Rolando Pérez tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s Ricardo Arias got a free kick in the 83rd minute. The ►Las Mercedes F.C◄ supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing ►Las Mercedes F.C◄ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
