The supporters of Lengua de Lobo booed when Cruzeiro Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tarcisio Goiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Albano Gilen hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Martin-Daniel Palermo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Vinícius Macedo firmly grabbed it by the left post. Lengua de Lobo were awarded a corner in the 12th minute after Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Albano Gilen took the corner. After taking down the ball on Lengua de Lobo's corner Albano Gilen fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Vinícius Macedo quite easily take care of the ball. Luiz Paulo Fantini took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ernesto Calixto. Ernesto Calixto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Thanks to some nice moves Martin-Daniel Palermo could shoot a difficult shot in the 23rd minute, which Vinícius Macedo however easily saved by the left post. If Benigno Katia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Blas-Armando Giunta lost his temper 28 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Feliberto Manuelo took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Vinícius Macedo to make any attempt to save it. In the 36thth minute of the game Anselmo Negri who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lengua de Lobo's Ernesto Calixto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Vicente Chaves came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Cruzeiro Esporte Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vicente Chaves couldn't finish the play. Ernesto Calixto came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Adelino Simão. But to his dismay, Adelino Simão quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube made a substitution. Perivaldo Valle replaced Tarcisio Goiano.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Benigno Katia to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Perivaldo Valle to maneuver through the defense. Vicente Chaves succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-3 in the 55th playminute. Vicente Chaves kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Vinícius Macedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benigno Katia in the 63rd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Benigno Katia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vinícius Macedo was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. Luiz Paulo Fantini blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ernesto Calixto having to make a save. In the 69th minute, Feliberto Manuelo made a precise shot to the right of Vinícius Macedo. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-3. 73 minutes into the game, Luiz Paulo Fantini cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-4. Ernesto Calixto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Anselmo Negri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Ernesto Calixto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Benigno Katia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lengua de Lobo's supporters rose to their feet, but Benigno Katia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vinícius Macedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 83 minutes into the game, Benigno Katia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lengua de Lobo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cruzeiro Esporte Clube the free kick. A collision led to Lengua de Lobo getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Benigno Katia hit a great ball. Benigno Katia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Vinícius Macedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Renatinho Linhares kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. When the match was over Cruzeiro Esporte Clube could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Lengua de Lobo throughout the match.
