The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Demetrio Castellani couldn't finish the play. Raymond Hager came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by CA Boca Jrs's Ettore Gelsomini. But to his dismay, Ettore Gelsomini quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Diego Tassotti didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Diogo Yurin went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After 17 played minutes New England Minas got a freekick which was hit by Truman Bauman. Diego Tassotti didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Parker Nance went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Diego Tassotti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Parker Nance in the 24th minute of play. Raymond Hager made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniele Ubriaco in the 29th minute. 34 minutes into the game, Bruno Forlano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CA Boca Jrs's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave New England Minas the free kick. After 34 played minutes CA Boca Jrs got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Forlano. In the 36th minute, Diogo Yurin made a precise shot to the right of Diego Tassotti. CA Boca Jrs's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. 42 minutes into the match, New England Minas's goal looked a bit too open when Ettore Gelsomini came free, but Raymond Hager reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Diogo Yurin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, CA Boca Jrs's Ettore Gelsomini sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Raymond Hager narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Diogo Yurin received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Diego Tassotti came out and tried to block the shot, but Diogo Yurin slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 55th minute. Ettore Gelsomini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of New England Minas booed when CA Boca Jrs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexander Perilli didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 64th minute, CA Boca Jrs's Antonello Fiore seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Antonello Fiore the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of CA Boca Jrs protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Antonello Fiore had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Antonello Fiore hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ettore Gelsomini in the 71st minute of play forced New England Minas's goalkeeper Raymond Hager to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind New England Minas's goalkeeper Raymond Hager, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 74th match minute, New England Minas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Parker Nance to maneuver through the defense. Ettore Gelsomini scored 3-4 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Raymond Hager, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Wilfredo Middleton kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Diego Tassotti. That made the score 3-5 in the 81 minute of play. Sem Terra's late challenge caught a CA Boca Jrs's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sem Terra helped the player get up and apologised. In the 91st match minute, New England Minas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sem Terra to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ettore Gelsomini in the 92nd minute of play forced New England Minas's goalkeeper Raymond Hager to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match was over New England Minas could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than CA Boca Jrs throughout the match.
